In the 48 hours following the Bondi terror attack, online hate increased significantly across major platforms. Our new report analyses over 145,000 posts to track patterns of anti-Muslim sentiment, antisemitic content and conspiracy theories.
We found that nearly 1 in 5 posts on X included anti-Muslim hate. New forms of antisemitism also rose sharply, particularly content that blamed Jewish Australians for the actions of the Israeli state.
These findings show how hate content spreads and intensifies after violent events.
