Does economic deprivation trigger terrorist mobilisaton in the US? Yes, but only for the far-right

A new study published in the Journal of Quantitative Criminology found that economic deprivation triggers far-right terrorism. Conversely, far-left terrorism is triggered by improving economic conditions. Islamist terrorism is not affected by collective deprivation in the United States. The study was conducted using PIRUS data between 1948 and 2016.
