Collecting hate crime statistics in Canada: best practice and lessons learned


In this video, Irfan Chaudhry discusses strengths and weaknesses of the Canadian system to collect hate crime data. In February 2018, Irfan became the first director of MacEwan University’s Office of Human Rights, Diversity and Equity. Irfan is a lecturer in criminology at MacEwan University in Canada. He is one of the creators and manager of the project Stop Hate Alberta – Documenting Hate Incidents in Alberta, Canada.
